Villa Papiano Pre Sangiovese 2019

The 2019 Sangiovese Romagna Predappio Pre opens in the glass with a bouquet of dusty roses, crushed rocks, sour cherry and animal musk. This is finessed and silky in feel. Brilliant ripe red fruits and inner florals cascade across a crunchy core of saline-minerality. It finishes lightly structured, echoing licorice and autumnal spice notes as residual acids maintain a lovely freshness. The balance and purity here are something to behold.
