Sannas Maria Abbranca Bianco 2017 500ml

As ethereal as it is rare (only a few hundred 500ml bottles were crafted) the 'Maria Abbranca' consists entirely of the super-local white grape Granazzo (sometimes referred to as Nuragus), hand-picked and macerated on skins for 40-60 days. Redolent of honey, ripe apricot and sun-drenched orchid fruit, ‘Maria Abbranca’ is complex, rich, and persistent, cross-hatched with earth-bound bitter herbs and spices. Named after the Sardinian legend about a woman at the bottom of each well, ready to grab all the children who get too close — this is a wine that grabs you by the shoulders and slaps you with the potential of one of Sardinia's rarely seen vinous bounties.
